The Government of Andhra Pradesh was adopted 10+2+3 pattern of education and two year intermediate course was introduced during 1969 70, under board of intermediate studies, later renamed as the board of intermediate education. The board came into existence on 16th Jan 1971.

The board is constituted with hon’ble minister of higher education as chairman, secretary, higher education as vice chairman and secretary, Board Of Intermediate education as executive head.

Revised Syllabus: a) Part-I, English b) Part-II Second language c) Part-III optional subjects Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
